There are two versions of this class listed below:

  • One teaches how to help adults and children.
  • The other teaches how to help adults, children and infants.

Also note that there are currently two options of how to receive this training:

  • “blended-learning” classes are:
    • eligible for certification at no additional cost.
    • conducted mostly, but not entirely, online (with the hands-on, in-person portion being held — by appointment only — in the home office of CPR-Twin Cities (in the Highland Park neighborhood of Saint Paul, MN).
  • “online-only” classes:
    • have no hands-on practice.
    • are not eligible for certification.

For both “blended-learning” and “online-only” classes, you will need:

  • a reliable, high-speed WiFi connection.
  • at minimum, a tablet (like an iPad® or its Android equivalent).
    • A full-size computer would be even better. But, to be perfectly clear, a mobile phone screen will be too small to be able read the slides and view the demonstrations clearly.

Along with First Aid, you have a variety of CPR-Twin Cities options: Adult CPR/AED, Child CPR/AED, Infant CPR/AED … and assorted combinations … to fit your particular needs. You’ll find an explanation of what is meant by “adult,” “child” and “infant” below.

Of these options, only the Adult and Pediatric (Child-Infant) CPR/AED and the Pediatric (Child-Infant) CPR/AED classes fulfill the State of Minnesota Rule 3 CPR/AED requirements for child care workers. The classes below do not, however, include First Aid, but that option is available.

While these classes do not fulfill the requirements for most health care providers and safety professionals, they are acceptable for most other professions. Please read class descriptions and check with your employer, school, professional organization before registering, so you’re certain that this class will meet their requirements.

Definitions of Adult, Child and Infant

To ensure that you get the proper training for the populations of greatest concern to you, please read these definitions:

  • An “adult” is considered to be someone approximately 12 years or older (or beginning at the first signs of puberty).
  • A “child” is considered to be someone approximately 1 up to 12 years old.
  • An “infant” is considered to be someone younger than 1 year old.

Combined “Child and Infant CPR” classes are also known as “Pediatric CPR” classes.
